Grigoris has been raised under the strict guidance of his greedy and authoritarian mother, bombarded by cliché proverbs and sayings, all of which resulted in him leading a silly and meaningless life and almost totally erasing any sign of personal initiative, which modern life demands of us.

His mother’s lavish behavior towards his boss, allows the latter to openly flirt and make sexual remarks to Grigoris’ sister. At some point though, he realizes that this tragic situation is close to getting out of hand, he tries to get away from everything and revolts, only to reach a dead-end.

He realizes that this does not lead him anywhere, and this drives him crazy. In the bitter end, everyone hopes that he will get better, which would mean that he would marry the woman they have chosen for him and not the one he actually loves...
